Youth Groups

We have two Cathedral Youth Groups: a Junior Group for children ages 10-13, and a Senior Group for teens ages 14-18.

From September through May, the Youth Groups meet on Sunday mornings, 9:30 - 10 am, (in conjunction with our weekly Sunday breakfast) to discuss Bible stories, Church history, theology, and to plan ourYouth-Lead Services, the Good Friday presentation of The Way of the Cross, as well as our 2011 Youth Service Camp and 2012 Summer Mission Trip to Rosebud, South Dakota.

During our 10:15 am Sunday worship service, many of our youth group members join in the liturgy by serving as Acolytes--which includes bearing torches in procession, serving at the altar, and ushering congregants up to the rail for communion.

Then, on Sunday afternoons, 5 - 7 pm (occassionally at other times and on other days depending on our plans) the youth group kids gather for fun and fellowship. Sometimes we meet at church, and other times we gather at such places as Fort Desoto Beach, North Shore Pool, Sunshine Lanes, Al Lang Field (for an FC Tampa Bay soccer game), or the Anna-Stella Cajun Bistro (one of the group's favorite hang-outs). During our fellowship time, we'll play games, share a meal, work on local service projects, explore our local community, and otherwise have a good time together.
