Youth-Lead Services

Twice a year, the Youth Groups lead the Cathedral's worship during the 10:15 am Sunday service.

In preparation for these Youth-Lead services, the members of our Senior Youth Group dig into the scriptural passages appointed for that Sunday, and then each writes a personal reflection exploring a question arising from that Biblical discussion. Those reflections form the body of the sermon for the Youth-Lead services.

Then, during the service itself, the members of the Junior Youth Group serve as lectors of the scripture passages and leaders of the Prayers of the People; and the members of the Senior Youth Group stand and preach. The truth and insight expressed in these youth sermons often move our congregation to tears.
