Lenten Studies

Sunday mornings at 9 a.m., Dick Abbott will offer a class on Jesus's parables in Mark, Matthew and Luke: What was Jesus saying? How did the writers use those parables in their Gospels? What are those Gospels saying to us today? This class will meet in the coffee hour area, now through March 21.

From noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays in Lent, Dean Morris will lead a book study on The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning. The book offers "good news for the bedraggled, beat-up and burnt-out." In a humorous and easily accessible style, the author, a former Franciscan priest, brings home the message that God is "head over heels in love with us," even—or especially -- when we're at our most unlovable. This class will meet in the coffee hour area, March 9, 16 and 23.

Bring your own brown-bag lunch, and order the book online by clicking here, or buy it at a local bookstore. Bring your friends, and if you work downtown, bring your colleagues!
